Govt awards Chinese contractor to develop Budhigandaki Project

The government has decided to award contract to develop Budhigandaki Hydroelectric Project to Gezhouba Group Corporation (CGGC) of China. The Cabinet meeting held on Tuesday approved in principle the Energy Ministry’s proposal to let the Chinese company build the 1200 MW storage type project under engineering, procurement, construction and finance model.ek

Sherpas recover Aussie climber Styrdom’s body on Everest; Indian Army col airlifted from Camp II

Rescuers on Tuesday recovered the body of Australian woman climber who died near Camp IV while descending from the summit of the world’s highest mountain on Nepal side.
