China-Nepal Cultural Exhibition

Kathmandu, Dec 22: A 3-day cultural exhibition ‘Echo of Civilization: China-Nepal Culture Salon’ began in Beijing Thursday morning.
The opening of the exhibition stressed on the theme of cultural exchanges and mutual and learning among civilization, said a press release issued by Nepali Embassy in Beijing.
The programme was hosted by the Embassy of Nepal, Beijing, with the support of Chinese Culture Translation and Studies Support and Beijing Language and Culture University.
Even a Nepali delegation is on China visit to attend the programme.
Nepali Ambassador to China, Leela Mani Paudyal, and a number of distinguished guests from Nepal and China addressed the opening ceremony highlighting various aspects of Nepal-China cultural relations. While welcoming the guests, the Ambassador highlighted the historic strong cultural relations between the two countries and emphasized on the need of time to elevate the exemplary relations to strategic partnership for economic growth and development.
Similarly, Nepal Academy Chancellor Ganga Prasad Uprety, Director Huang Zhuoyue of CCCTS, former ambassador of China to Nepal, Li Debiao, also spoke on the occasion about the importance of cultural relations for the promotion of overall bilateral cooperation. The programme was attended by about 100 participants from government and non government agencies from Nepal and China.
Moreover, two books on China- Trans-Himalayan Silk Road and Aloukik China published in Nepali language ad written by Hiranya Lal Shreatha and Ajay Shrestha respectively were also unveiled jointly by Ambassador Leela Mani Paudyal and Chancellor Ganga Prasad Uprety on the occasion.
Later in the afternoon, the participants took part in another dialogue on the theme of ‘Common Characters and Differences in Cultural Communications’ which was organized in China National Publication Import and Export Group, COZYBO2K in Beijing. The programme was addressed by Ambassador Paudyal and other Nepali and Chinese scholars.
