Mustang attracting large crowds

MUSTANG, Jan 26: The number of foreign tourists visiting Mustang has increased by 34.49 per cent in 2017.

The Jomsom Area Office of the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) reported that a total of 52,475 tourists visited Mustang in 2017. 4,115 tourists from the total number visited upper Mustang, said Office Chief, Tulasi Dahal. A total of 39,017 tourists had visited the district in 2016.

Dahal said that transport facility and publicity are among the reasons behind increasing number of tourists visiting the district every year.

There are many tourist sites in Mustang district including Lomanthang, Muktinath, Marfa, and Kagbeni. ACAP collects data of foreign tourists visiting the district at Jomsom and Kagbeni.
